We are thrilled to announce that Marine Science Today is now fiscally sponsored by The Ocean Foundation, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit ocean conservation leader for financial development and consultation services.

Support the stories you love!We at Marine Science Today are committed to unbiased, science-based information sharing. We are proud of the news and educational products we’ve produced over the last three years, and we want to continue keeping you informed in a sustainable way. That’s why we’ve entered into this new relationship with TOF. It will allow us to accept tax-deductible donations from you to support our work.

“We are thrilled to be associated with The Ocean Foundation,” notes Emily Tripp, Marine Science Today Editor in Chief. “Their commitment to reversing the trend of destruction of ocean environments around the world aligns perfectly with MST’s vision of an informed public that acts to protect the world’s oceans.”

By making a donation to Marine Science Today through The Ocean Foundation, you will support the marine science news and information you have come to love from MST! Your donation will be fully tax-deductible, as The Ocean Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Here are some of the things we can accomplish with your support:

  • A $25 donation designs the graphics for one MST story on seals, orcas, or otters!
  • A $100 donation produces outreach materials to spread the word about marine science news and ocean conservation at a conference or festival (like our work at Rock the Ocean in March).
  • A $250 donation supports the writing and research for THREE Marine Science Today stories.
  • A $1,000 donation pays for Marine Science today’s web hosting for an entire year.

Make your tax-deductible donation before December 31
to be entered in a raffle for an MST Holiday Prize Pack!

Support Our Work

The Ocean Foundation is a unique community foundation with a mission to support, strengthen, and promote those organizations dedicated to reversing the trend of destruction of ocean environments around the world. TOF works with a community of donors who care about the coasts and oceans and, by doing so, grows the financial resources available to support marine conservation.

Marine Science Today (MST) is an online resource for marine and ocean related issues designed to close the gap between scientific research and people of all backgrounds who care for and interact with the ocean. MST takes the latest research and marine science news and translates it so it can be easily read and enjoyed by anyone passionate about the ocean, no matter their science background. We envision an informed public that acts to protect the world’s oceans.
