Ocean Contest Opportunities

There are two opportunities coming up to participate in an ocean-themed contest.

The World Oceans Day Video Contest

One World One Ocean is calling on all 7-12 graders who love the ocean to make a short, one-minute video about their personal connection to the ocean and why it is important to them. Admissions are due by May 10,2013 and the top ten selections will be open for public voting starting on May 18. The winner will be announced on World Oceans Day, June 8 and will receive $100 and a GoPro camera! Click here to learn more.

Underwater Photography Contest

The University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS) is now accepting entries for its annual underwater photo contest. Photos are due on May 17, 2013. Photographs are divided in three categories: fish or marine animal portrait, macro and wide angle. The overall winner will receive a trip on Blackbeard’s Cruises, departing from the Bahamas and there are additional prizes for the top three selections of each category. Click here to learn more.
