Looking for something to do this weekend? Head to your local IMAX/3D/large-screen theater and check out Humpback Whales, a fantastic story about these spectacular marine mammals that’s narrated by two-time Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor.

The film takes place in the waters of Alaska, Hawaii, and the remote islands of Tonga, where humpbacks can be seen singing, feeding, playing, and raising young. The 40-minute film tells the uplifting story of this species that was nearly driven to extinction as a result of hunting just 50 years ago. Now, thanks to national and international protection, they are making a remarkable comeback (so much so that they might be removed from the list of endangered species!).

Humpback Whales 3D was released in February and has had a wildly successful start, earning a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, a popular movie reviewing site. Watch the trailer below to see what’s it all about.
