If you’ve heard of the Ocean Health Index and want to know more about it, then this month’s Science for Everyone! talk is for you.

Science for Everyone! is a monthly series hosted by the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis that is designed for anyone who has an interest in the natural world.

This month’s talk is titled “How healthy are our oceans?” and Dr. Ben Halpern, Director of the Center for Marine Assessment and Planning, has the answer. Dr. Halpern, along with an international team of scientists, developed the Ocean Health Index which allows us to measure the overall status of the oceans.

The talk will take place on Thursday, December 13 from 5:30-6:30pm (Pacific Daylight Time) in Santa Barbara and will also be broadcast live on the internet.
